Your lists are yours.

Private lists stay on your iPhone. Shared trips use Apple’s iCloud only when you choose to share.

What the app stores

Private trip names and dates, categories, items, quantities, packing progress and reusable templates stay in the app’s local storage. Packing List does not operate an app server, require an app account, collect usage analytics or include advertising trackers.

Optional sharing

If you choose Pack together, that trip’s name, date, categories, items, quantities and packed status are also stored in Apple’s iCloud and shared with invited participants. They can edit the same checklist. Other trips stay private. Participants need iCloud accounts; Apple’s invitation interface may show your Apple Account name. Shared data uses private and shared CloudKit databases and is not browsable by the developer in the developer portal.

Sharing a template sends a file containing its name, categories, items and quantities. It excludes departure dates, packing progress and iCloud information. Recipients receive independent copies.

Purchases

Apple processes optional in-app purchases. Packing List uses Apple’s StoreKit to obtain product information and verify Pro access. Ben Kell, the developer, does not receive your payment card information. Apple’s handling of purchase and diagnostic data is governed by Apple’s policies and your device settings.

Backups and deletion

Your device backups may include app data according to your backup settings. Packing List has no separate syncing server. Shared trips sync through iCloud. Use People and sharing to remove access, stop sharing or leave before deleting your retained local copy. When the owner stops sharing in the app, its iCloud copy is removed after reconnecting. Participants may keep copies they have already made. You can delete individual trips and templates in the app. Removing the app may remove all locally saved lists. Restoring Pro restores the purchase entitlement, not deleted trip data.

This website

The public information pages are hosted by Cloudflare. Website requests may include technical information such as your IP address, browser information and the requested page, which the hosting provider processes to deliver and secure the site. These pages do not ask for packing-list data, use advertising trackers or include an analytics script.
